If anyone can help me with HEX editing iw3mp.exe or with the Widescreen Fixer application that would be greatly appreciated. The Iw3mp.exe error will typically show when you play on Call Of Duty 4. I was wondering if anyone here has an aspect ratio fix for the multiplayer component of CoD4. Changing the hotkey combination, changing the game version back and forth but nothing seems to work. Widescreen Fixer still doesn’t want to apply the fix.
I found the correct 1.7.568 patch online and installed it. I looked around the Steam forums and found out that CoD4 was recently patched to version 1.8.
It was detecting that the game was running but the fix was not applied.
First the fix wasn’t working when I clicked on the hotkey. I unchecked “Automatically Detect Resolution” and entered 1 for “Display Count” and 3440x1440 for both “Uncorrected Resolution” and “Bezel-Corrected Resolution.” I ran the program and chose CoD4 version v1.7.568 (Multi-Player). I downloaded the file and extracted all the contents everything is fine so far.
I then decided to download Widescreen Fixer. I got the resolution at 3440x1440p, but the aspect ratio was still 16:9 and everything looked stretched. I wanted to check out multiplayer and realized that there were no HEX edit solutions for iw3mp.exe. (This was the first time I ever did a HEX edit and know nothing about it) It ended up working and I played through the entire campaign with no problems. I decided to use the HEX edit method for iw3sp.exe since I thought it was pretty straightforward. My current setup is a 3440x1440p Ultrawide monitor and a 1920x1080p monitor as a second screen.Īfter installing CoD4 I went straight to the WSGF site and found the fixes for ultrawide support. I recently bought Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare from Steam. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give you all as many details as posible.
