There is a very specific reason why those tracks didn't sound like there counter parts, and its the same reason I don't use those synths very often. It's got some nice modulation options though it could benefit from using more screen real estate and a more sophisticated preset browser would be welcome, too.You hit the nail on the head. It contains a whole bank of 128 categorized presets, including basses, leads, various synth sounds, pads and a few textures and FX sounds. With rich and powerful sounds you will find it useful for your trance productions. That said, I've got Spire because it's less effort to get VA-like sounds with that. My brand new soundbank for Reveal Sound's Spire is here. I know that kind of thing is popular in EDM right now but sound-design wise it's also very much synthesis 101 (then again, my scale for that could be out of whack ) Usually most of the character difference is in there. it's a very very basic sound - not even using the filter. the sounds are not the same - if it was the goal to make them all sound alike, you kind of dropped the ball on nr 6 and nr 3. While I enjoy these shootouts, I see the following issues with yours: I don't have any idea who Reveal are, but if I was them and I had just spent however long developing what is a spectacular synth, only to see discussion centred on where they are incorporated, despite the fact that the practice is neither illegal or uncommon, I would be pretty gutted. But minimising taxes just like most other companies out there? I think I will save my outrage for something else. I am all for taking moral stands - against cruelty to animals, poor environmental practices, child labor etc. So you are in for a stressful existence if you want to continue as a moral crusader untouched by the evil scourge of tax minimization. You have decided to take a moral stand against a practice that is near universal in any company with sufficient scale.
However they are big enough so that they can do it in a different way than by simply incorporating in a tax haven. I can think of at least one company you would definitely have in your plugin folder that also uses transfer pricing to reduce tax exposure. This is a really interesting discussion so I will put it another way then - look around your house and it will be filled with products made by companies who use transfer pricing or have moved their country of incorporation to take advantage of tax breaks - I only singled out Apple or Starbucks as an example.
I pay my fair share of taxes and won't support companies that don't over companies that do.īut fair play and good wishes to Reveal sound (and those at kvr who'll bitch moan about crack kids but cheer lead for and support tax avoiders), just saying it put me off from buying, but not much more than the price doubling has.
I don't want infractions for being overly political, suffice to say I don't own an apple product and I don't drink at starbucks.
